ABOUT US

My name is Jessica and I'm the owner of Prickly Pear Slumber Parties in Phoenix, AZ (formally located in Biloxi, MS).

I was born and raised in Arizona and love everything about the desert. I am a mom of two sweet little girls and married to the best guy ever. My husband is in the Air Force and, before I became a mom, I was a dedicated teacher. I left teaching to be home with our oldest daughter full time. Being a stay at home mom is AMAZING but I had been wanting a new hobby or a way to use all this teacher-like creativity bottled up inside of me.     

 

In June of 2019 I struggled to come up with a way to celebrate my daughter's 1st Birthday. We had just moved to Biloxi, MS and had yet to meet many people so our guest list was pretty small. I had decorated for my daughter's little party and at the last minute I decided to use her teepee to put the presents in since it matched the color scheme. After the party was over I watched my daughter grab a blanket and lay down in her teepee ...and before I knew it: I had a crazy idea to start a slumber party business. It only takes a few kids to have a slumber party so it's the perfect way for military families like ours to have memorable celebrations without having a large guest list.

 

By January of 2020, I had a full blown business and an adorable name that reminded me of home. Since then, we have added another daughter to our family and my husband is now stationed in Korea. With my husband being gone, the kids and I relocated to AZ in March of 2023 and brought Prickly Pear with us! I'm so excited to now bring Epic Slumber Parties to y'all here in my home state of Arizona! Now I spend my time being a mom AND making creative, fun, memorable parties for other families!
